Love Knows No Cost

Love Knows No Cost

Must have been pouring rain in her life;
for the men gave her plenty of work.
How many times she must have wanted to say,
“I want no more of you, filthy jerk!”
But she couldn’t…she didn’t know how.
She already made her bed.
When they were going to stone her to death,
Jesus stopped them instead.
He forgave her sins as He touched her soul…
Love will find a way.
She didn’t care what anyone thought;
He had taught her to pray.
This woman cringed as Jesus wrote in the dirt.
She waited for her destruction.
“If anyone has no sin…throw the first stone.
I give you this instruction.”
No one knows what was written that day
But He said, “Leave your life of sin”.
Help me Jesus to do as you say
So I can live again.

I believe that what Jesus may have written in the dirt that day was , "where is the man?' I believe that by virtue of the fact that the scriptures say that she was caught in the very act. If she was caught in the very act then the man had to be there too. Perhaps it was one of the men who brought her before the Lord to be stoned. When he said, "Let he that is without sin among you cast the first stone" they went away the eldest to the youngest. Perhaps because we have more personal sin to remember when we older. This is a wonderful poem regarding this portion of scripture. I enjoyed it very much. Best Regards, Debra aka Ramblingrose

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
