    Love As A Ladder

It grows with every inch of time,
    Weathered and still it strengthens
As its limbs, caressed with love
    Holds and bonds
    Keeps us still holding on.
    Climbing, and yet
    We push forward though
    The wind thrusts us against
    A tiny storm, our ladder
Still grows with each and every
    Inch of love.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
