Hidden Pearls Shine the Brightest

I lost my talent
When you left with my spark,
No regrets left to shed
When I cried in the dark.
I thought life would get easier
Now that I'm King,
But my imagination withers;
Not a song left to sing.
I'm happy as a clam,
As the saying goes,
But what the mind refuses to acknowledge,
The Heart surely knows.

Pain overrides senses
When I see your smile
Of that Little Boy
I loved for a while.
Everything fades,
And you obviously knew that.
While my pride falters,
My envy grows forever fat.
I'm happy as a clam,
The saying may gloat,
But I'm having a hard time
Keeping this ship afloat.

Sometimes I feel like I'm
Drowning in life,
With each passing wind
Comes heart-clenching strife.
I hold onto fear
Like some hold onto love.
When I lose myself,
I fly free as a dove.
I'm happy as a clam
And this time it really is true.
I've been the happiest being
Since I got rid of you.

great rhyme...it was very easy to read, i hope you have the time to read mine as well....but aside from that, you definitely have a clear voice in this one, well done

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
