Bloody Sacrifice

No one cares about
Anyone,
The whole world’s a
Fake.
So twist the blade
Deeper
And just watch my blood
Crust,
Watch it cake.
Watch the wound
Spread,
Smearing your t-shirt with
Lies.
Put in headphones to
Drown out
My pitiful cries.
Souls are weeping over your
Bloodied face.
You may think you’re winning,
But you’re only falling farther behind in the race.

I used to walk down the
Street
And sing with the birds,
But you hated that.
You were so
Alone.
An empty
Heart
In an empty
Shell
Of an empty
King
On an empty
Throne.
You finally gave up,
Tried to give in,
But I couldn’t sit there and
Stand
To let the Devil always
Win.
I tried to save you,
But you took the knife.
Instead of finding your own,
You stole my life.

Wow, this is amazing. My interpretation is that a friend takes their life, and in reality it's like they took yours as well because of the pain. Either way it is a great poem, I love the word choice, and the flow.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
