Grandma

 I ask,
Why does life come with a fine?
In the end someone will have to pay
Maybe tomorrow
Maybe today
For Your life isn’t guaranteed
It has no soft spot if you succeed
You’ll end it sooner with hate and greed
So why does life come with a fine?
Is it because you don’t  care when it’s you that crossed the line
To you the after life is divine
Now it defines,
Your space
Tick tock as time erase
And out of the blue a picture of a face
Your past love ones floating in space
Memories fill your mine
Thinking about the good old times
As you fix your lips to say her name
The lack of memories make you feel ashamed
Looking at a photo of a women
Once named pearl
You realize that she never left this world

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
