    FOUR MONTHS

FOUR MONTHS AGO YOU WATCHED ME WALK AWAY
YOU DIDNT EVEN ATTEMPT TO MAKE ME STAY
BROKEN HEARTED IS WHAT I'D PLEAD
TO EVERY GUY THAT CAME TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF ME
ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE BEEN ON MY OWN
    I HAVE TO ADMIT I WASN'T SURE
JUST HOW WELL MY LIFE WOULD GO.
WITHOUT YOU THERE MONITORING MY EVERY MOVE
    THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING
THAT I COULDN'T DO RIGHT FOR YOU.
WHAT AM I TO DO WITH MY NEW FOUND FREEDOM?
    GET INVOLVED WITH ANOTHER GUY?
WHY SO IN TWO YEARS I COULD JUST LEAVE HIM?
    MY ATTITUDE HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED
I NO LONGER BELIEVE IN THE SAME THINGS.
I USED TO THINK THAT LOVE WAS REAL
BUT HOW CAN YOU LOVE SOMEONE SO MUCH
AND THEN END UP THE WAY I FEEL?
FOUR MONTHS AND I AM FINALLY NUMB
I DON'T CRY ANYMORE BECAUSE THE PAIN IS GONE.
TWO YEARS AND ALL THAT WE HAVE TO SHOW
IS A BROKEN LOVE AND A DAMAGED SOUL.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
