    Farewell

Farewell for now my friend.  I will see you in just a little while.  I will miss seeing your face and your warm friendly smile.

For now, sharing our thoughts and recalling old memories will just have to wait.  Till you'll see me walking through those pearly white gates.

What a reunion it will be to see you once again.  To know you have been with Jesus.  And, just to be able to shake your hand.

In Heaven will be together eternally forevermore.  We'll be living in Jesus presence, need I say more.

I think  God for the inspiration you were to me.  Your Christian walk reminded me of Jesus and all that I should be.

I know God will give me the strength to carry on without you here.  I will miss you for a while my friend.  But, someday we will be together where you will always be near

As Christians it seems that the pain for loosing a loved one is somehow cushioned and consoled by our faith in God. I lost my Mom just a 2 weeks ago and I felt the words of your poem as though it was also spoken from my heart. Thanks for a lovely poem!

Thanks, I'm so sorry about you losing your mom, may God comfort you with those words!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
