Faraway

Faraway

Somewhere in the faraway, a lonesome whistle wails

Underneath the moonless night, of dark and cloudy veils

She turns to watch his slumber.

Unaware of her distractions, peaceful in his sleep

She thinks about the secrets, her slippery fingers keep

And her soft breath catches.

Touching first herself then onto her lips, she bends to kiss the man

Aching  for his roughened hand, to finish what she began

But he dreams on.

She sings of herself in the darkness, her sweet-sweet melody

Her gentle hands filling in the notes, of her lonely ecstasy

She cries out softly.

Somewhere in the faraway, the lonesome whistle sighs

Underneath the moonless night, her hands tucked in her thighs

She finds her peace.

Masturbation is the first thing that comes to mind after reading. This is taking place while her lover is asleep. "Touching first herself then onto her lips, she bends to kiss the man Aching for his roughened hand, to finish what she began But he dreams on." He doesn't awaken so she "Finds her peace" or takes care of herself. "Her gentle hands filling in the notes, of her lonely ecstasy. Underneath the moonless night, her hands tucked in her thighs." At least that's how I interpreted it. =) Another great poem.

This poem can be taken in so many ways. I first saw it as a woman who is with a man that has become dead to her. Her spirit yearns to be pleased in a way he can't provide. -He dreams on- as if oblivious to her needs. Or....it could be just that. A sleeping man...and a lonely woman. (perhaps I read too much into things ;P ) This poem seems to have an undercurrent to it. I love that about poetry. Beyond the surface.

Very erotic. Your words paint a beautiful picture but it was painted with your fingers. I feel the loneliness that she feels because he still sleeps. I was moved by your words. Thanks for sharing. Take a sec and read my work. We write about the same themes so I would really respect your opinion.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
