Does God have a religion?

Does God have a religion?

Do I need to have a religion?

For fear of social stigma to fit in

To purify, cleanse my earthly sin

To claim salvation to claim heaven

Now tell me Lord; lead me God

To take the road most travelled

Or the road less traveled

In searching for your light for your guide

But tell me God; Do you have a religion

Let me know if it is made by man

To run the show to run us down

To bow, to kneel for fear the unknown

Religion is powerful than God

Infinity above and beyond

It makes a name for itself

With every book stocked in shelf

I beg to differ that religion is a notion

That overrides our emotion

That gives a choice between right and wrong

Either makes us weak or strong

The choice between evil and kindness

Walk through light or darkness

Make the world a better place

Oh that is my religion no more no less

Yes dear, Man made religion if u would call it religion. I call it Faith. Man made religion who is Jesus Christ or Father Christ because He's Eternal Father's Priest forever. And I disagree, God is the strongest, the most powerful of all. He can make the impossible possible, that is strong, I think.

Thanks for asking this question in your poem and getting us poets thinking. I pretty much agree with what Harvey has said here and all I'll add is that in most people's hearts, if they really wanna know, they'll find everything they need to know right there.

Religion is like your retirement portfolio. It will have no more value than what you invest in it, not what another asks of you. As the Son of God clarified, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, will all your soul, with all your strength, and your neighbor as yourself. Oh, and church, that was Christ's idea, too. Since then, many manmade regulations have clouded the first pristine vision of a loving society of those called to be saints. I'm praying for your quest. Thanks Harv good enough, one should focus on the existence of God and His only Son Jesus Christ instead of glorifying his/her religion. Exactly, Jesus preached of loving eachother and living in harmony that in a nut shell is the esence of life so our religion shall be kindness not any man-made organized religion.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
