All Aboard!!!

All Aboard!!!

"All aboard!" shouts out the train man.
"Where does it lead?" I ask as I stand.
"To a better place, far beyond your sight."
"Won't people miss me?" I ask.
"They might."
"But it's all for the best and I have to say,
that perhaps, you will see them one day."
"Is this a dream?" I ask.
"Could be,"
the man shrugs and turns his head to me.
His uniform is white, and his body glows.
I turn but see no one that I know.
Wordless, they board, soft comments at the sound
of the glowing man's welcome, a resonating pound.
All have entered, I'm the very last to stall.
It's time. This is it. This is the-
"LAST CALL!" the train man shouts.
It startles me, but I've figured it out.
I'm going home. I've been worth the paid price.

I step forward to enter my paradise.

well done. very entertaining. sometimes i hesitate to say that a poem is "entertaining" because i know that most of my poems are not meant to entertain ( and maybe i need to take a chill pill...lol ). this is a wonderful story/poem. tight with visuals.

thanks a lot. while some of my poems are meant to be more serious than entertaining, I enjoy telling stories. Always have. This one in particular was meant to inspire, entertain, and provoke thought. I will be posting more vastly different poems/stories. Thank you for your comment :)
