Walk On By

Walk On By

Some people are made to look upon the brass
ring behind a plate glass window and dream
as they walk on by along a life
of contemplated mediocrity

I was cursed

Where once it was chrystal clear
and I had only to reach out and grab it
But I stepped back to take it all in
only to see my own reflection

I could read it all over again...very nice

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
