    Horizon

    Distant shores I looked upon
    yet truely could not see,
    but dreamt of often
My heart bound in figments I sought to free
spirit wind carry mine aloft and away
    as my realm lies elsewhere
onto the past and revisited today
In but a single voice that had once beckoned but I failed to hear
yet with grace its echo held still in time
and is what now brings me here
    separated only by distance
it's now me that sends a plea
Oh distant shores that I look upon
    and now truley see
    what could have and should
    forever be....

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
