United Slaves of America
When did "By the People" become "For the People?"Freedom of choice is guaranteed by our forefathers.
Bill of rights, Dec. of independence, Constitution,
but, day by day my freedom is a bother.
Not to me, I enjoy my so called freedoms,
no, the government that is supposed to be
run by the People is not run for you and me.
Instead, it is run as a machine, if you will, a lottery.
Thing about this machine, "We the People" always lose.
As the fat cats atop capitol hill stand to profit
from our misfortune, I am made a rebel.
They take our money and still demand more of it.
What more can we give when pride is raped?
Mandatory health care is on the rise,
you will label me a criminal if I refuse,
then I will be a rebel, forget "the man" and his prize.
Give me liberty OR give me death,
this I will say 'til my last breath.
This is not where I want to be,
TRUE america is lost, give it back, PLEASE.
Imagine your mother, or father when time comes,
medicare and s.s.i. come undone, homeless abound.
Uncle Sam demands money for "necessary" healthcare,
OH NO, can't pay, to prison they go, no way around.
Don't get me wrong, I love America,
but this government is not what was forseen.
Long ago our forefathers sought a free future,
freedom of speech, of press, hell, the right to be free.
Let us ask a question to those in charge,
When did you sell yourself for your cause?
Money is power, power is money, how cliche,
but WE are real, not a game you can pause.
American by birth is this rebel man,
American in death is how I choose to die.
American by choice is soon to disappear,
American no pay, sorry, imprisoned for life.
The truth is all I can tell this day,
free flowing thoughts ARE my God given right.
"The man" will never shut me up, NEVER,
for I will spread fire, for TRUE freedom I fight.
