  • ok, she came home for a "visit", but does that mean she is staying? Not likely....

Politically F**ked

When I am feeling torn and unsure,
I find solace within my mind, escape.
It is here where "The Man" can't invade,
here where I am king and I am brave.

Outside the mind, the world is ruined,
technology changed the face of today.
Tomorrow is no better, obsolete is yesterday,
today I hold on to nothing because I have to pay.

Pay for what should rightly be free,
something taken when it was given to me.
Why should "The Man" profit from everyone,
if he's not paid, your work is undone.

Unfair is the waltz of the world,
dancing is not on my list of "to do's".
Politically f**ked is societys' keep,
the harder you try, the tighter the noose.

michael, This poem certainly rings true in so many walks of life. Is this democracy really what our forefathers had planned for this generation? I like that you make the reader take their thoughts a bit further. ginga

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
