UNDERSTANDING
“Do you understand me” I say
I look him in the eye
The boy is mad at mama
“I understand”
“Will you say you’re sorry?”
He looks into me and breathes deep:
“My bunny wants to say goodbye to mama.
And I wonder:
what does the bunny have in store for me?
