    Tidal Waves

    Barefoot in the sand
    I watch her run
    Through the soft waves
    Of a black night
    Her radiant eyes
    Lighting up the entire shore
    Or maybe it's the stars
    Shining down on her
    While I watch her
    Laughing
    Running
    Jumping
    Splashing
    She smiles
    Though I cannot
    She is fearless
    While I tremble
    No cares
    To distract her joy
    She runs to me
    Hugs my waist
    I smooth down
    Her silky hair
    That blows in
    The western winds
    Of childhood
    Oblivious of the
    Dark and heavy
    Storm
    That will one day
    Rock the beach
    On which we stand
    I prepare her
    For life
    As I know it will
    Rush upon her like
    A tidal wave

I know what this was based on. TTTEEEAAARRRSSS!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
