    Misconceptions

    You touched me sweetly
    Yet so discreetly
    Your kisses melted all
    Over my body
    While I sat there
    Trusting, believing, wanting
    Ony hoping
    Never knowing
    Still trying
    To understand you
    Why you would take
    My heart
    My trust
    And throw it all
    Away
    Am I a toy
    Am I a game
    In ignorance and
    Denial
    I'm waiting
    But I know what
    Will finally come
    Nothing but
    Rejection
    Humiliation
    Deterioration
    Of my heart
    And mind
    You never showed
    Me anything
    I just assumed
    You were true
    Maybe I was
    Blinded
    By your face
    Your hypnotizing
    Eyes
    I never had
    Any power
    You had it
    All
    Kissing me
    Holding me
    Whispering "I want you"
    While I sat there
    Trusting, believing, wanting
    Something that
    Never existed
