Through the Silence

Sometimes I like the silence,
But sometimes it is piercing,
It screams into my ears of forgotten days and forgotten love,
I am past the point of trying to write whimsical words and fancy descriptions,
Gluing them together to paint a pretty picture,
It was fun while it lasted,
But I want to write something moving,
Something real………..
I always hated the grammar part of writing,
Feelings don’t have to have correct punctuation,
So I misspelled a word,
So fucking what,
It’s the message that is important,
Isn’t it?
Some days I wake up in prayer and meditation and it feels so glorious to be alive,
Other days I feel so bored, desolate, and isolated,
Times seems to drag,
Each second threads through my mind like fingernails on a chalkboard,
On these days, I seem to take all of my blessings and gratitude and laugh in their face,
I yearn so much to love with unyielding passion,
It just seems like that is so limited here stuck on this Earth,
That is just the ego again,
Drowning out the joy with negative thoughts,
God, I love you with all of my heart,
You speak to me in mass volume,
You guide me through the lonely silence and the muffled screams,
You remind me that I am never alone,
You get me through.

Hi, I really enjoyed reading this wonderful poem. A very inspirational and uplifting poem. Your words are so real and moving. Life can be quite questionable at times, but with God by our side there's nothing in this life we can't accomplished even smiling though everyday it's not always easy. God Bless!! Donielle Smith

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
