Scratching the Surface
Each second threads through me,
Spiderwebs replace empty promises,
Of a perfect feeling fading fast,
Wish upon a galaxy,
Of hidden stars through the looking glass,
Your perception is so timely,
Comes raging through, selfish mass,
You were so beautiful, nothing on the surface lasts,
Man made distractions, what the flesh wants it usually gets,
The soul is untimely bottled, nowhere to go, darkness rests,
Joy breaks open, you can’t ignore, peace caress,
Hope is a wonderful thing, God’s hidden light filled bless,
Rhythmic patterns of a heart in tune,
Musically inclined faith sprung true,
Inner truth shatters doubt in question,
No more fear soaked indigestion,
Smiling as a tear rolls down,
Release the ties to this earthly ground,
You have only scratched the surface,
Healing begins with a righteous purpose.
Spiderwebs replace empty promises,
Of a perfect feeling fading fast,
Wish upon a galaxy,
Of hidden stars through the looking glass,
Your perception is so timely,
Comes raging through, selfish mass,
You were so beautiful, nothing on the surface lasts,
Man made distractions, what the flesh wants it usually gets,
The soul is untimely bottled, nowhere to go, darkness rests,
Joy breaks open, you can’t ignore, peace caress,
Hope is a wonderful thing, God’s hidden light filled bless,
Rhythmic patterns of a heart in tune,
Musically inclined faith sprung true,
Inner truth shatters doubt in question,
No more fear soaked indigestion,
Smiling as a tear rolls down,
Release the ties to this earthly ground,
You have only scratched the surface,
Healing begins with a righteous purpose.
