Through A Child's Eyes
Our children are the future - yet we allow them to suffer so.
The love we never show them - is the love they'll never know.
We don't want them to be violent - yet we send them off to war.
We tell them they can touch the sky - yet chain them to the shore.
We fail to see the anger raging in our children's eyes.
We don't see the pain we cause them with our bitterness and lies.
We forget the innocence, we once had ourselves.
We don't remember the magic, that children have themselves.
We need to remember children are our future, and it's us they will outlive
We need to remember the ability children have to love and to forgive
Grab a piece of that childhood innocence and hold on tight
because life without that beauty, is a life dark as night
