The Mask You Wear
Not the mask that you wear, nor the color of your skin,
tell me who you are or where you have been.
Who are hiding from; what have you done?
Where can you go, so you won't have to run?
Hiding behind shields; telling only lies.
Who are you hiding from and why do you cry?
Running for the border in the pouring rain;
can't you see the answers born from your pain?
Take a look a life, see the world around;
answers to your questions can surely be found.
Not the mask that you wear, nor the color of your skin,
tell me who you are or where you have been.
tell me who you are or where you have been.
Who are hiding from; what have you done?
Where can you go, so you won't have to run?
Hiding behind shields; telling only lies.
Who are you hiding from and why do you cry?
Running for the border in the pouring rain;
can't you see the answers born from your pain?
Take a look a life, see the world around;
answers to your questions can surely be found.
Not the mask that you wear, nor the color of your skin,
tell me who you are or where you have been.
