    Poem Commentary

    GE 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. GE 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day. Phil 4:13 I can do all things thru Christ that strengthens me. His words give me life and help me to survive.

    These Words

     These Words are the only words
    That give light to my being-
    Every sentence, every thought
    Gives insight, for I am not seeing
    The whole earth when I don't
    Hear from You, and I don't see
    Past the forests to find what I
    Have been searching for all along...

    How can I be strong
    When my life is on E?
    And how can a blind man
    Open his eyes and see all
    The beauty and pleasure, wrapped up
    In jars of heartache and pain?
    How can a person with a cleft palate
    Truly smile again without crying?

    It's These Words that create
    The Impossible Dreams we need,
    It's by Your Words that I will finally
    Have the chance to succeed and do
    Something worth-while with my life!
    Now I see the beauty of War,
    Even though I've tried, I never fought before.
    So now, I fight to
    Hear what You have to say...
    For in my heart, I know now-
    There is no better way to
    Insure my survival without hearing
    These Words, "I can do anything!"
    I can do anything with You.
