The Wailing Song
The sun beamed down on this dreary day, as i stopped and watched the children play.Something didn't seem quite right, the air was cold like the mist of night.
A shiver of sadness passed through me, as i turned and saw.
A sad black haired girl from afar.
The closer she came, the breeze it did chill.
An icy feeling that could kill.
Trees and bushes began to sway.
children stopped, they did not want to play.
The closer she came, i felt the pain.
A pain in my heart, like someone had died.
The weather changed before my eyes.
She walked right through me with her icy skin.
Her eyes dark.
Her face thin.
This was the one who only appeared, from the pain in a heart and emotions of fear.
It was night time now.
The children had gone.
The place was silent, except for that song.
As i walked home, i felt tired and cold.
My bones felt weak, like i was old.
The rain came heavily.
The drops were loud, but did not block out the wailing sound.
I thought to myself, today was strange.
That black haired girl.
The weather change.
As i walked up to my front door, everything felt weird but calm.
I couldn't wait to go in, and see my dear old nan.
But as i walked in i got a fright, she was dead and cold like the darkest night.
Out of my mouth came a piercing scream.
In my heart i felt so mean.
I wasn't here when she died.
I held her in my arms and cried.
As i did, i stopped and sighed, the wailing song faded into the night.
