    Poem Commentary

Saddened by the suddens death and loss of a great man ... a tribute to his kindness, gentleness, and tender caring soul.

    ... The Soul is Private

    … The Soul is Private

Talented above all, due to notoriety life is an expose’, but … The soul is private.

We scrutinize, assuming that we know all, but do tell … the soul is private.

A man is but a small child inside; we imagine what on earth?  Indiscriminately … the soul is private.

A masked man blessed us with open expression and a glimpse of greatness … selflessness, kindness, worthiness, and we disannul, when we will learn? … The soul is private.

We imagine … identity crises; lover of children, child-molester, and the world’s greatest giver … His soul is private. Private means personal not a matter that should put us in frenzy because we ourselves are not invisible … we are humans, capable of faults, yet we judge?

Go to the man in the mirror because…

     The soul is private.

I forgot to say, a worthy tribute to a very misunderstood soul.

I liked this poem a lot. It is deep and wide, like a river with undercurrents, While walking along its rocky banks it seemed to me if one is not careful it can pull you under and sweep you along down to the depths. I would have liked a few more clues about some of the truths you were making. But like an abstract painting, I can appreciate the parts while wondering about the whole. I will definitely reread it a number of times as I hang it on the wall of my to be read laters. Thanks for the exchange, it was fun. Perhaps our next one could be titled exposing the private soul.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
