The Price
ashen was the color of Your holy face
bruised and bloody where the stripes left their trace
upon a back so strong and fair
leaving bloody scars from lashes so unfair
You were stripped of all Your dignity
for all of man's iniquities
to pay the price You did not owe
all because You love us so
dragging Your cross through the rough streets
to hang with nails through hands and feet
upon the hill of Golgotha for societies worst
in attempt to strip You of all Your worth
all throughout the strife and pain
not once did You complain
for our sins and wicked ways
tis a price that must be paid
so we may all be forgiven
and take our place up in Heaven
with the One who paid the ultimate price
to give to us eternal life
You cried out with so much love
"Father forgive them for what they have done"
upon a hill that day died three
a murderer, a thief, and my King
bruised and bloody where the stripes left their trace
upon a back so strong and fair
leaving bloody scars from lashes so unfair
You were stripped of all Your dignity
for all of man's iniquities
to pay the price You did not owe
all because You love us so
dragging Your cross through the rough streets
to hang with nails through hands and feet
upon the hill of Golgotha for societies worst
in attempt to strip You of all Your worth
all throughout the strife and pain
not once did You complain
for our sins and wicked ways
tis a price that must be paid
so we may all be forgiven
and take our place up in Heaven
with the One who paid the ultimate price
to give to us eternal life
You cried out with so much love
"Father forgive them for what they have done"
upon a hill that day died three
a murderer, a thief, and my King
