    sanity

leave me alone, come hold me near
run away, no wait; i need you here
don't touch me, wrap your arms around me
open your eyes, oh why can't you see

i'm unraveling, coming apart at the seams
    nightmares have replaced my dreams
seems like i always end up alone
every time, i lose a piece of my soul

what's left of me now but a hole
hole in my soul, hole in my heart
i have only pieces left so cold
    everytime we are apart

i can't breathe for the cold
    icy wind that blows
    through my hollow heart
    with every breath i impart

    seems i'm fading away
like the dandelions in the breeze
i need to find a way to make
    everything around me freeze

    freeze til i collect myself
    and put all the pieces
    back together and
    once again have my

    sanity

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
