    The Mister Mystery

    Can you tell me why
    It is that I
Was “Mr. Right” for so damn long
    Then suddenly
    I came to be
    In your eyes “Mr. So-Damn-Wrong”
    I recall a time
    You said that I’m
The man you’d call “Mr. Perfect-Fit”
    The man of your dreams
    But now it seems
    You consider me “Mr. He-Ain’t-Shit”
    When I felt bad
    You seemed truly glad
That I was “Mr. Mope & Pout”
    But what’s so sad
    Is it seems you’re mad
Because I’m no longer “Mr. Down & Out”
    That’s only because
For a long time I was
Caught up in being “Mr. So-Into-You”
‘Til I got up the nerve
    To say you didn’t deserve
    The likes of “Mr. See-How-Good-I’ve-Been-To-You”
    Now I have to say
    To my own dismay
I wasn’t always the sensational “Mr. Finance”
    But on most nights
    Under low lights
I became the insatiable “Mr. Romance”
    I had to spend
    Many days on end
Trying to figure out this “Mister Mystery”
    So it took a while
    To bring a smile
To the tear-streaked face of “Mister Misery”
    But that’s the past
    We didn’t last
Because you couldn’t brave “Mr. Stormy-Weather”
You should have hung in there
See the sky is now clear
    Because I’m finally “Mr. Has-His-Shit-Together”

What a well-written piece - I could also see it being a hit song!

would of gave it a 10 u know the feathers do there own thing.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
