I Am Not Impressed
The sight of you in lingerie can't even compare
To the wistful thoughts and memories of times we used to share
And when you see me look at you with a smile and lustful eyes
It has very little to do with your breasts…
Your hips…
Your shapely thighs
I more affected by memories of the softness of your skin
And the firmness of your embrace when your love had me locked in
There's not much more that you could do when you walk into a room
That could have as much effect on me as a hint of your old perfume
None of this is to say that I think any less of you
But why on Earth would you ever want me to be impressed by you?
We used to have a saying…
A small motto for you and I
We said "The things you cherish make memories and those will never die"
The image of the woman you are in my memory is much stronger
Than the impression of your female body parts…
(And besides it lasts much longer!)
So impress me not for it is true that most impressions fade
And look deep into your own heart and soul to see what memories have been made!
