the ghost

the ghost

like gossamer wings
she glides past
no sound at all
but my hair catches a breeze
the look on her face
the love in her eyes
her mouth moves
like shes speaking aloud
i feel her desperation
as she flows towards the wall
she turns to look at me
i first felt nothing at all
then it hit
like a thump in the gut
she wants me to follow
and to keep my mouth shut
i look at the bricks
that she is showing me
there was a door there
of that i can see
the mortar is crumbling
its easy to push
bricks fall to the ground
in a massive big cloud
when the dust has settled
i now can see
what it is she is showing me
her face is now sad
so what.....i hear you ask
where is this going?
i will tell you....you will be glad
she points to the ground
putting her hand over her mouth
my eyes follow her gaze
and settle upon
my own staring eyes

looking right back

at me.

Outstanding imagery!!. A since of our own mortality. Not dark, but real

Beautifully and poetically dark. A Gothic gem.

I like it! completely unexpected ending and intense throughout! I would enjoy more like this one.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
