Ten Second Kiss
Can you please count up to ten?
And do it somewhat slow,
It must last ten full seconds
Just so that you will know-
Some fighter’s hopes just bit the dust,
As his nemesis has won;
If you can count down backwards,
A space trip has begun.
Sometimes when triggered anger
Seeks a coup d’etat o’er peace,
Ten precious seconds of delay
My provide you a new lease.
The child that’s it for hide-and-seek,
Allows all her friends head start,
For the hiding of the body
And the seeking of the heart.
Two lovers come back into view
After hours spent wherever;
Some quick peck simply will not do
To reconnect them back together.
It really takes ten seconds-
Some soft sliding, moistened kiss;
So count real slow and close your eyes,
As you breathe in coupled bliss.
