take me away

take me away

drawn in
taken over
just a touch
sends me whirling
drowning in emotion
fighting to breathe
the world disappears
when you're here
hold me tight
time crawls
my heart races
nothing else matters
but your eyes
escaping
in your lips
a precious few
stolen moments
reluctant to return
to the daily grind
far away from you
constantly dreaming
of our next rendezvous

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
