    Swallowing Down

    Searching needing that fix,
    swallowing down.
    My reason, motivation,
    pushing myself to get through.
    The sickness I cant face,
the blue devils control my mind.
I feel it in my veins,
    taste it on my tongue,
    swallowing down.
Feeling better, I push for more,
only to make the good feeling stay,
    to push down the darkness,
    feeding the beast once more,
    swallowing down.
    Laying on the floor,
    the coldness feels good to my skin;
    not able to move myself,
so I lay, continue to fight, gasping for breath,
    I awaken to another day.
    Pushing myself for motivation,
I reach for my friend, my fix, my reason
    swallowing down.

good poem, and my eyes grow tired, my lids are falling as it they were weighted down with anvil's. I enjoyed your work. smiles Vincent

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
