Softly Awakening
“The morning broke and I found myself fumbling into your mind, I thought, Oh she’s sleeping. So, I taste the morning on your dried lips, I rolled over denying dawn.
I planted sun-kissed sweetness onto your face. I was met with the smile that greets me. Thoughts like this occur every morning. It’s another awakening we share of our exponential Love. It is like walking on eggs. But so surreal, these thoughts; as I awake, you are not here? .” (He said to me).
Then sun’s rays shine into my room, upon my pillows and in my face.
Thoughts of you flood my consciousness;
only then do I remember that you are not here with me, but at your place.
You are with her, your wife, your baby’s mother.
Oh yes, you are lying with another.
You don’t love her; you are misunderstood; or so you say. A discussion for another day.
Who can understand your point of view?
So softly I awaken, nothing new.I thought you spent most of the night in my arms.
You are so cleaver with all your charms.
You are a man of the cloth with valor and honor. It’s such a sin that you would live with one and sleep with another.
Forget about love for that is an oxymoron. Together with you is just one complex chemical, like powered boron.
"It’s a difficulty situation we face;" or so you say.
And love must be savored for it’s worth.
You place the discussion on the backburner another day.
Let lust be passion and our love be the earth.
This is the basis of your decision, not the fear of discovery?
If we lose self-respect each of us will need recovery.
“This thing we must examine the closest,
it’s being together that counts; today.” This is what you say.
It's marriage you deferred most often.
All these years you have lived with one,
and in love with another.
You make me feel like a mother.
There is no wonder pains are upon us.
Nothing ever goes asunder.
Your, lust, passion, longing, excuses or thoughts spill out like thunder. In the morning, by the new dawn. Words begin talking to me like flowing water roaring under. Those remembered words in my head, with thoughts race on like a roaring rally.
Yet, I find myself feeling a bit jealous,
you with her all those years.
Saying you once loved her brings me tears.
Is it just a dream? I am I awake now, there thoughts to plunder. Striped of dignity, by your charm I fall under. Am I still awake, on that I wonder?
