Sitting Here
In the quiet hours of twilight’s fade,
Memories of friends in soft light parade.
Whispers of laughter in the breeze,
Moments frozen, hearts at ease.
Echoes of days when paths entwined,
Shared secrets, dreams so intertwined.
Now distant shores and time’s cruel march,
Leave longing in the heart’s wide arch.
Photographs yellowed by the sun’s warm gaze,
Hold the echoes of forgotten days.
Letters penned with tender care,
Speak of bonds beyond compare.
In the spaces where silence reigns,
Their absence lingers, bittersweet pains.
Yet, in dreams, they visit still,
Filling the void, the aching chill.
Though miles and years stretch far and wide,
Friendship’s light will never hide.
In every star that graces the night,
Their memory shines, steadfast and bright.
