    Sincere Nights

When the lights go out I can feel your arms wrapping around me.
    Keeping me safe.
    keeping me sane.
I can feel your breath on the nape of my neck.
Letting me know your still there.
    Your arms never wavering.
    Never letting go.
Keeping me locked away in your love.
I can hear your whispering voice say "I love you".
You call my name with such sincerity.
I know your love will never fail me.
I know you'll be here every night to remind me of how you love me.
    Your everlasting love.
I can feel it in your embrace.
I can feel it in your kisses.
    Your sincerely lovely nights.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
