Thinking of getting through it

Alright

I can feel it coming to an end.
I can feel it in my soul.
See it in my head.
I know that they say it'll be alright.
But I'm still so unsure as to what is happening to me.
Is everything ill fated?
Will it all change?
Can it get better?
I know I'll fight.
It won't be easy.
I can feel the uneasy feelings settling deep within my stomach.
And my voice held captive in my throat.
I'm not sure how it'll turn out.
But it'll be alright.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
