    SINCE FIRST WE MET

    Since first we met,

the mere sound of your voice,

    ignites an all consuming passion,

    filling my heart,

    with a longing of desire,

    I’d yet to experience.

    The mystery of your

    every nuance,

    slowly being peeling away,

    layer by layer,

each sweeter than the one before.

    You leave me never disappointed,

    always surprised.

    Your smile fills my being,

with the wonder of a child.

    You are the personification

    of our love.

    When absent

    I grow ever impatient,

    anxiously awaiting the discovery,

of the you, you next reveal.

    Each manifestation,

    endearing you to me more.

Yet who you are to me, I fear to define.

    For destiny is free-wheeling us.

    Leading us to the brink

    of the disaster,

    only certain to follow

    such an event as us.

    Standing together blindly,

oblivious to the world around us,

    how can we see,

    that we will only be,

    for just one stolen season?

    Too many obstacles to overcome,

    lines we will not cross,

    lives in the balance

    more precious than ours.

    Yes! but for our season,

    we hold tightly to the

    refuge of our love,

knowing only pain is certain to follow.

    Yet until its affliction,

we will live in the greatness of our joy.

    G.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
