AN ILL-FATED LOVE AFFAIR
4-23-10
The anxiety of what has and will happen between us,
has over-shadowed any anticipated longing,
we have yet experienced.
The feelings of ambiguity and uncertainty,
for what is to become of us,
is both frightening and elating.
The odds of a love like ours coming to its fruition,
are not good.
Alive in the moment of our beginning,
perpetuated by hope and delusion alone.
The delusion that no one before us,
has ever loved as we do now.
We are both romantic creatures
of brilliance and passion.
It is because of this,
we lack the pragmatism others take for granted.
We allow our hearts to rule our lives.
rather than our minds.
We live in hope, not in reality.
Being who we are,
the rarity of our feelings take precedence
over what we will not allow ourselves to see.
We look upon our feelings as gifts to be cherished,
stored in our hearts forever.
No matter the reality.
We live on those beliefs and pray they will sustain us.
No matter what fate has in store.
