Signs of Old Age

Fitted for my first pair of bifocals
they make me see blurry
I was told give it some time
you'll adjust, don't worry
I sigh as I carry groceries
up our thirteen stairs
The grays are taken over
and I refuse to pull out hairs
The veins in my hands
I never saw before
Skin always feels dry
and my back often feels sore
I must write things down
or else I may forget
I remember too much fluff
and I often feel regret
In some ways it was easier
being young and full of steam
but now I sit with my feet up
sip my coffee and dream...

TY-I've recently been through some trauma: so I have had somewhat of a 'mindblock'-this new game (new to me) really helped me think out of the boxes I have been in...Earthly

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
