    Sights Unspoken

    Before we could speak, before we could listen,
    Before we could walk, and before we could lie,
    We learned to see.

    We saw colors, shapes, lights, and movement.
    We saw the world, in all of its unique innocence
    Some say you can’t see love, but we saw it.
    Some say you can’t see joy, but we saw it.

    Immediately, life reflected the images we saw with uncanny accuracy,
    Evoking instant conviction.

    We have not yet been taught however, to read the world, as we read our words.
    Who has trained themselves to read life;
    To discover a deeper source,
    To find a meaning that is not so obvious to us?

    Throughout our lives, the world is more immediate then words,
    But much harder to articulate.
    Words can be spoken, can life be as well?
