    shadow

just because your hand itches doesn't mean you should chop it off
               says my people
but i have chopped mine off
for it hurts me deep inside
no one knows how it feels ,unless i
for a poison from a snake can send me dead
just because i gave you my heart
doesn't mean you should toil with it
for you left me when i need you the most
and like shadow he did appear from nowhere
and like flame he go in my heart (Philip)
he put a smile on my face
    a shadow he has been
for he has been with me for long
and never did i noticed that he is the right one

It can be a stark awakening, this eureka of discovery in seeing something right under our noses, which has been so close, we never saw it before... Forest for the trees syndrome... A good piece....

It is always a good thing when the shadow (the one we tend to overlook through our looking for love) finally comes into view....nice work.

niiiiiiiice i like this poem i can visualise what your saying and how the shadow comes out of nowhere to steal the girl

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
