Scarred for Life, Triumphant.

Scarred for Life, Triumphant.

This, a text in wreckage
And I'm digging while a child screams
Scraping into slogging wet
Earthy, gray, and frayed, afraid
It is paid for unbelief
A station any stray can reach

Beneath this weight a soul can break

Cover up your clueless face
Will it filled in any case
Never breathe a word again
Except in praise, at straightest pace

The primal wailing yet awaits
Will mercy not be fourth?
I ask, in death inadequate
Over this bowed shoulder right, and shoulder left
Please do not be broken so
Reverse, remember: one return
All you have to do is learn
To grant the wicked your concern

So when the tearing talons
Shoving sharply lacerate
Be grateful for the hate they lay
These graceful jeweled eggs of fate

Atop this truth a stone may sail
Away these excavated graves

Behind this strength a soul can stand

All forward, and remember:
One return.
