    Devaluated Stones

These pieces of glass are about anguish and angst
These pieces of glass are of misery, mortality
    These precious beads reflect fortitude
Turn them in the palm cool and surfaced
    The jagged, sharp, angular
    The ugly, cutting corner
    Leaving lacerations in its path
    Signs to prove the past

These pieces of glass tell of cleanliness, purity
Of goodness and wholesome, beautiful shining moments
These pieces of glass reform murder and savagery
Provide chilling relief to bleeding scratches
    Left in anger previously
    By brothers of a sudden
    Pushed by hardened haste
    Immediacy in permanence

    These are post modern living
    Living under skies denied
    Living over merchandised
    Most troublesome commodity
