Poem Commentary

This poem is about a car accident I was in i hit a deer late November in North Dakota, it was my first real accident and the deer total my truck.. Every line in the poem is explaining everything I felt during and after the accident.

Restlessness

I wake up in sweat
I rethink the horror I dreamed
I relive the fear I witnessed
The sound of a tin can being crushed
Deep and blunt

Ridgid cold like ice ripping at your skin
Your head spins
Your hand crushed and bruised

Mud at your feet
Smoke in the air
Fall to the ground griping something familiar,
a bit of peace in the chaos of unwanted change

You take a breath
The eye of the demon meets your path

Restless nights
Restless days
It's all a blur
Reality and dreams blend like blood and oil
Stabbing and all

You tell your self its over but,
your minds tortures you
the demon plays with you
and it will always stay with you
For you are restless
No one will change this

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
