Reflection II
"I have fallen andI've fallen hard and
I don't know what to do
About all this."
You know that terrifying feeling of falling,
Right before you actually do?
That moment before you catch yourself,
Stretching out your arms to steady your
Unbalanced body?
I think that was you in that moment
Flailing, but not falling.
You never actually fell,
Because you grabbed the things
Which steady you most and
I, believing in fate or destiny or God's will,
Jumped,
Landed hard,
Bit the dust,
And now I'm broken,
Unable to get back up,
Even when those who steady me are telling me to
Pull myself together and keep moving.
Part of me just wishes
You would look down at me (again) and
Offer me your hand.
