President -Elect Obama: Part III
A car accident took his fathers life in 1982,
Barak hadn't seen his dad since he was 10, it's true!!
He graduated with honors from the Punahou Academy,
One of three blacks in the school, smart as he could be.
After high school he studied at Occidental College in L.A.
He transferred to Columbia University in New York
and graduated one day.
It was in 1983 with a degree in political science.
He moved to Chicago in 1985 and worked with low income residents,
The days were long, tireless not, without hesitance.
He entered Harvard Law School in 1988 only two years
later to pursue
A job as the editor of Harvard Law Review.
He was the first African-American ever elected,
A position very few would have rejected.
He graduated magna cum laude in 1991,
Obama Sr. didn't live to see the accomplishments of his son.
After Law School he went to Chicago
He was a lawyer of civil rights.
Joining the firm of Miner, Barnhill and Gallard
Working more tireless nights.
