All grown up
Why is letting go so hard
Even when you feel its time,
My eldest has spread her wings
Leaving me seems a crime.
A crime against daughterhood
Premeditated over the years,
The apron strings have loosed
I'm filled with sadness and motherly tears.
Loving her is easy
The hardest thing hurts to the core,
And thats hugging her tightly,
Wishing her well
Before she close the door.
Even when you feel its time,
My eldest has spread her wings
Leaving me seems a crime.
A crime against daughterhood
Premeditated over the years,
The apron strings have loosed
I'm filled with sadness and motherly tears.
Loving her is easy
The hardest thing hurts to the core,
And thats hugging her tightly,
Wishing her well
Before she close the door.
