President-Elect Obama: Part II

Barak Sr. won a scholarship after the war so he left Africa,
To pursue his Hawaiian dreams in the United States of America.
The Obamas separated when little Barak was two,
then soon a divorce,
His mother married Lolo Soetoro of Jakarta,
their life took a different course.
Young Barak who's nickname was Barry lived in
Indonesian and went to school,
He learned to speak the language which I think is very cool.
At ten he returned to Hawaii
to live with his grandparents Stanley and Madelyn
His mother died in 1995 of ovarian cancer,
new challenges to began.

poems too long to be one poem

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
