ONE SHOT

ONE SHOT

Must find my cleaning supplies
So I can make it shine
It has to be ready tonight
This pretty little pistol of mine

I put one in the chamber
One shot should do the trick
My life will soon be over
My heart will no longer tick

I can see it clearly now
The blood running through my hair
I enjoy all my suicidal fantasies
The thing is I don't care

How can others be so selfish
All I want is to die
They all say they love me
But that is just another lie

So now I've pulled the trigger
This was my very last ride
Maybe their love really was sincere
Because at my funeral they cried

Sadness coming out is overwhelming. I didn't want to finish the peom, but felt I had to see how it would end. You write with power and feelings that are hard to grasp at first. Good poem, but so sad.

this is a sad piece but i llove the imagery and how the title catches your attention but the the mood of the piece keeps you reading. good poem little lady!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
