    My Son...

    My Son, all asleep so innocently,
    dreaming of the angels as I dream of reality,
    wishing you a pleasant stay as mommy must one day go away,
    I wonder what you think about,
    so small as you are while growing up so fast;
    A gentle world full of amazement that one cannot quiet grasp.

    My Son, I look into your small brown eyes,
    try to wonder to see if I can describe,
    the world of how you see it but I can only quiet
    grasp the pretension of horror that mommy sees in a world that
    has learned to know how to betray.

    My Son, you are so rare,
    no two fingerprints alike you have,
    no one else's DNA can be the same,
    like a twinkle of an eye is the value of your life,
    My Son, you are apart of me that I value so much

    I do my best to see that you are raised in God's dear love and grace;
    know that our Savior loves you so much that whatever this world gives you;
    God will give you the strength to handle much...

    My Son, I love you so much and know that no matter what...I'll be right there..beckoning you on;
    encouraging you to do your best,
    because no matter what;
    you are just that: My Dearly Beloved Son...

    Enjoy your poem, My Son, was very good. Blesings..

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
